Building the Building Blocks

Starting a new company is never easy; I wish I could say that BOOK-ie was an exception to the rule. It’s not. BOOK-ie hasn’t even launched yet and we’ve been hit with more obstacles than I care to mention.

The website, which looks clean and easy to navigate, has a very complex back end. We’ve strived to make things simple, but as we develop the business we realize how complex the company truly is.

Once we launch, BOOK-ie will have a certain trajectory, and we’ll be (somewhat) forced to travel the road we are on. If the road is too difficult to navigate, or if our goals prove to be unrealistically ambitious, the company will surely fail.

We don’t want to explode onto the scene, shine briefly and quickly fail; we want to begin our journey sure-footed and humble, then grow into something special.

There are quite a few companies that promote ebooks; the competition in this market is fierce.

We have come to the conclusion that BOOK-ie cannot be like any of the other companies. It’s not that we want to be different for the sake of being different. Truth is, what works for other companies will not work for us.

We have decided to push back the launch date, simplify the company’s service, modify the website, and re-approach BOOK-ie from a different angle… an angle we can call our own.

For those of you looking forward to our launch, sorry, but you’ll have to wait a little longer.

You only get one chance to launch a company.

We want to do it right.
